Tell us a little about what your class and spec brings to the raid: I am experienced raider who has completed all bosses in icc10HC and 25HC apart from LK. My specs are based on research on ElitistJerks forums and trial and error. Cannot always trust what you read until you try it. I am always looking to improve my spec as best I can. Always open to suggestions. With me in raid you can have the confidence of having a dedicated raider who knows the tactics and will be focused at all times.

What is your alt spec? You have items for it? Are you willing to play you alt spec if needed by the guild?

I am not bothered at all what spec I play in. I enjoy being in DPS mode and Tank mode. My gearscore is almost the same in both specs as you can see from the ui photos, 6081 and 6017. Just happy to raid and see progress.


TECHNICAL INFORMATION

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Past guilds in Lightning's Blade: Exodus since 2007, previously I have been in SoS, Napalm, Genesis, Ancient Defilers, PRC (Chinese Guild - Raided AQ40 starting at 01:00 server time, could not read guild chat due to constant use of chinese, strange times).

Past guilds in other servers: Not worth mentioning. Started raiding MC as an ally on Silvermoon. Left there due to AV coming up once a month and AB every 2 days.

Why did you leave your last guild/s?:I have not left yet. I'm looking for something different, a place where raids are fun and people are valued. I have raided with you guys a number of times in Ulduar and I lead a group of you guys through ICC10 HC pug. All bosses downed in HC mode in a pug which is both rare and uber. Special thanks to Splosion and Dranah for that.

Raiding experience
Vanilla: Cleared everything as a shaman healer as a level 60.
TBC: Cleared everything. Cleared everything as Shaman and Paladin at lvl 70.
WOTLK: Cleared all as Paladin Prot and Retri

Why would you like to join Heavens Fury?: I enjoyed raiding with you guys and your raid times suit me being that I live in the UK. Had such a laugh listening to you guys on vent during the Ulduar runs. Seems like it's a fun guild with good people.

Thank you for the quick response. Back in vanilla I was using Randomtask. Probably one of the oldest characters on the server. He is in cold storage since I quit multiboxing.

Ok, nice application, props to that. I do however have a few comments to make about your character in general.

First off, your mainspec is tank IIRC, and you're currently logged out in ret gear. Do you have a preferred spec? Regardless of which is your preferred, I'd like to se your tank spec also, so could you make sure you've logged out in it.

Your retribution gear. It's good, and whilst the Scourge Reaver's Legplates are perfectly itemised for ret, they are inferior to the tier, since the offset gloves (Fleshrending Gauntlets) are better itemised, and in close to BiS gear you need the expertise from the legs. This brings me to my next point, in that I see you've got overcap in expertise with use of the cape, boots, and rings. You need to drop some of it to make room for the legs, but using the cloak from frost badges is bad. It's terribly itemised and should be replaced as soon as possible by any drop higher than 251(10man marrowgar, 10man gunship, 25man festergut (i think), 25man gunship etc, the gunship one happens to be Best in Slot for this expansion.) If you have them, swap one of your rings for the BoE, and your boots for the Blood-Soaked Saronite Stompers, since this will make room for your tier in terms of expertise.

I'd suggest moving your Nightmare Tear into your chest, as despite the swapping of an 8 str socket bonus for a 6 str one, putting 3x bold cardinal rubies into the legs results in a higher dps gain. I'd also suggest trying to get the 4piece t10 setbonus, since even at 251 it's better than the offset pieces. the only exception to this rule is using 2pc 258 tier 9, but good luck killing 25man heroic Anub'arak for the tokens.

Your spec is somewhat dated, since the use of Vindication has not been needed since prots started speccing into ret for crusade and persuit of justice (ie since before ulduar), in this case I'd like you to take the first of the two retribution raiding specs, which contains Aura Mastery. This can be found here.

Glyphs need changing, if you have more than 21 expertise, using the Glyph of Seal of Vengeance a loss in dps over using the Glyph of Exorcism.

Now to your protection spec. It's got points in most of the right places, however I'd suggest moving 1 point out of Spiritual Attunement (only really useful for heroics these days) and Conviction (the tps gain you get from this is out-weighed by other talents), instead speccing into Seal of Command and Crusade. The spec I'm referring to is here.

Tanking glyphs can be switched on a per-fight basis, I'd suggest keeping a few of the following to swap around. Glyph of Salvation, Glyph of Righteous Defense, and Glyph of Hammer of the Righteous. These 3 glyphs can be swapped in favor of your current Hammer Glyph, since the other two you use are required for raiding.

I can't give any more of a judge until I see your tanking gear, but if you make the changes I've mentioned, and your tanking gear is fine, I'd be happy to give you trial. However, like Saida said, we are running a lot of paladins currently (both ret and prot) so I'll have to see where you can fit in the raids.

That aside, I have raided with you, in both ICC and recent Ulduar 25s, so I know how good a player you are. So +1 from me if there is a raid spot available.

Not fussed what I raid with, whether it is Retri or Prot is fine by me. Happy to use whatever is needed by the guild. I leveled this character in Prot and then worked on Retri when I got to end game.

Apologies for the late reply, my internet has been screwing with me the past few days.

If you could just log out in prot gear again for me, so I can have a decent look. Only thing that I remember atm, is the weapon enchant needs to be Blood Draining, and the shield enchant needs to be 18 stamina.

I'll get straight to the point.

All of the combination gems you have should be changed immediately to stamina. ESPECIALLY the 10 crit 15 stamina one, If you have to gem for a socket bonus in a yellow socket _. use hit/stam or def/stam. Not sure why you gemmed crit. The only combination gem you should be using (unless you medically need hit, and that isn't very often) is a 10 agility 15 stamina (Shifting Dreadstone) in your helm. Basically this represents the most survivability that can be presented to our tanks in forms of gems, and activates your meta.

15 stamina + run speed on boots -> needs to be 22 stamina. You have a talent in the retribution tree called Pursuit of Justice, which renders the run speed enchants useless.

2% threat enchant on gloves, has never really been that good, you'd be better off using strength, hit, expertise or even attack power. So, I'd suggest using +240 armor (Glove Reinforcements), or 18 stamina (Heavy Borean Armor Kit). Another note on your gloves. They should either be the 264 offset from frost (Gauntlets of the Kraken), or the 264 tier for the 2set bonus.

Your Chest should ideally, be replaced with either the Frost 264 offset (Cataclysmic Chestguard), or 264 tier 10, as the 264 you have currently is just not really that good. Change the enchant for 275 hp also.

Cloak enchant should be swapped to 225 armor, especially since you're using only 16 agility and not 22.

If you have them, use the 251/264 bracers from 10man Deathbringer Saurfang (Gargoyle Spit Bracers), since even at 251 level they are better in terms of effective health than the 277 version of your current bracers. Same with the belt, the 264 frost belt is better than the 277 one you have currently.

Your legs, if you can afford it, should really be changed to the crafted Pillars of Might, since they remain Best in Slot throughout this expansion, simply due to the extra armor they have.

Finally, like i mentioned above, your Weapon enchant should be changed to Blood Draining, Blade Ward gets worse as your gear gets better, and isn't very reliable or useful, even at low gear levels. Your shield enchant should also be changed for 18 stamina, since Titanium plating, whilst offering some threat, isn't worth the loss in survivability.

Make the changes which I've mentioned (gems and enchants are the important parts, gear can be changed later), and I'll see about a raid spot for ya. Like I mentioned before, if there is a spec you prefer, speak up now, else I'll get you in whichever we need, which may not be what you enjoy playing mostly.
